The wait is finally
over, San Diego has landed a new club worthy to host world class music producers
and DJ’s, thanks to the new Omnia San Diego which hails from Las Vegas at Caesars Palace.
The new Omnia nightclub in Vegas is beyond any dream with 75,000 square feet of
awesome and Hakkasan, owner of most nightlife in Vegas, now can be found in San
The C.E.Os.of Angel MGMT. Hakkasan, Neil Moffitt rumored
to have had a hard time getting a table in Vegas while at a club long ago and
with a promise to return with a vengeance and has built the most amazing nightlife empire that is trumped by no one else, globally, only to never be
denied table service again.
With the new Omnia club opening in both Vegas and San Diego spring
2015 the real cost is never released but considering that the DJ's talent
contracts alone cost over 70 million per year, who are the world’s top DJ’s
booked as residents and are required to perform at both Vegas and San Diego
location’s, which keep’s the addiction beyond alive for club goers. The
scheduled events are staggering at both and I’m unable to even get near the
place till June with it being pre-sold out and passes being way over my budget.
With all the new construction estimated over 100 million in Vegas
and over 10 million here in San Diego on top of having over 500 staff members,
its easily the most expensive night club open, anywhere, ever, just topping
itself with being the newest most expensive Vegas club to open, after beating
old #1 most expensive club built, the now iconic Hakkasan in the MGM which
opened just a few years ago, owned by the same CEO. I was beyond lucky to
attend once to see trance king’s W&W.
Omnia has state of
the art sound and LED lighting throughout, which has beyond visuals that just
seem too unreal, like something out of a sci-fi movie. With beyond typical VIP
service, which is elevated to allow non-VIP, like myself, more room to dance
and hang instead of packing in VIP tables directly on the dance floor, although
once the beatz go deep the line between gets weak. More than a few LA and NYC
clubs love to crunch VIP tables directly on the dance floor, which is never fun
for non-VIP. Hakkasan table service has a “spend it if you got it” option, booking
table starting price average 3k, depending on who is on the decks, and where
the table is located, not including actual bottles and with main floor table
service starting at 10k and bottle service starting at 500 min. per bottle. By
the time the beatz come to an end just before dawn, one can rack up an average of
15k before tax and tip. 1 night at 1 of the clubs can pull in an average of $300,000
min. per night. Top it all with amazing new restaurants and poolside day club
events, Hakkasan group definitely knows how to get a return on investments.
Dom Perignon and
Grey Goose are the shiny stars that make the nights fun and gets hot, taking
anyone to the top tier of table service menu at most clubs owned and managed by
Hakkasan, including Omnia both Vegas and San Diego.
I have not been lucky enough to attend Omnia yet. Unfortunately,
the grand opening in April was beyond unreachable for many on opening night. Calvin
Harris christened the decks for opening weekend and being over booked and over
sold in May, missing my fav DJ Afrojack and R3hab, but my hope for a June visit
will come true and beyond excited to see 1/3rd of favorite X Swedish
House Mafia member, Steve Angello. I was beyond lucky to see 2/3rds of X
Swedish house mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso during Coachella.
June will bring a full circle to experience amazing music
and start a new beginning of fresh club life here in San Diego.
Drippin Beatz: Come Back Bands: The Chemical Brothers
When amazing music happens then drift’s away, never
forgotten, the wait for even just 1 beat or 1 sound can weigh down any heart
and the hope for release or even a fluke leak is beyond the moon. Nero is considered
a British band, made up of 3 members: Daniel, Joe and Alana who gives power
vocals, which without any of the 3, I just can’t imagine the sound or power
could stay alive.
There are too few great band’s who have given amazing music
to the world then drift into quiet, and as quietly as they left the world
spotlight, they return, creating beyond better than last album.
The chase to see live has already come and gone, at least
for now. I was incredibly lucky enough to see Nero at this year’s Coachella
music fest, which for me was the Best performance throughout the whole fest weekend.
The set list included great hits, old and new. Most fans were anticipating promises,
which was done beautifully and my new fav The Thrill and Satisfy both beatz
grab you and don’t let go till its over, leaving you with wanting more. I can’t
wait to see again and hope to be able to attend, as with so many gig’s, never
possible to do the all.
Another major return and highly demanded on so many fest
line ups globally are the Chemical Brothers, an amazing duo that refuse to
loose hot beat ability even if they tried. The new release Born In Echoes is beyond proof no matter who comes and goes in
electronic music world.
The Chemical Brothers are a corner stone to EDM life
and has proved countless times how irreplaceable they really are. I’ve been
very lucky to have seen them live more than a few times now and every show
stands on it’s own, not to be lost in a shuffle of set lists. Once you’ve
experienced The Chemical Brothers live, you never forget it and never want to
miss. The production that goes into each song musically and visually is
astounding. The new singles “Sometimes I Feel Distorted and “Go” on the new
release Born In Echoes bring fresh new life to electronic music world where it
may seem that too many banger beat artists are sharing and pushing a too common
pulse and thankful for such a great return by T.C.B. The album doesn’t get
officially released till july 17 2015, but you can catch them on many of the
social networks and of course on festival line ups. I am preying both NERO and
The Chemical Brothers are invited to throw down beyond hard at this year’s nation’s
largest music fest, TOMORROW WORLD this September.
